Who we are
Right to Development (RD), Inc. is an International Nonprofit (501(c)(3)) Organization Registered in 2024 (Delaware) United States America with branches in Kampala, Uganda, Lusaka, Zambia, and Freetown, Sierra Leone. The organization is committed to promoting equitable and sustainable development through research, innovation, community empowerment, and strategic partnerships. Registered in the United States and Africa, we work primarily across East and West Africa, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa. The organization addresses complex social and development challenges through evidence-based programs, policy engagement, capacity-building initiatives, and technology driven community solutions.

Dr. Joseph Gbanabom Conteh is an interdisciplinary scholar, educator, and public policy researcher with over a decade of teaching, research, and administrative experience in higher education, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Health Policy and has developed a solid academic foundation in policy analysis, curriculum development, educational leadership, and digital pedagogy.

Ocerot Francis is a strategic business leader and mentor with over 15 years of progressive experience spanning national and international organizations at senior levels. His career has been defined by driving digital transformation initiatives and delivering complex ICT-driven projects that align technology with organizational strategy.

Mr. Makaya is a development specialist experienced in research, production of various knowledge transfers products such as reports, policies, speaking notes, and concurrences. He is an expert in organizational capacity building, change process facilitation, executive coaching and mentoring. In addition, he has vast knowledge in identifying funding opportunities, fostering relationships with potential donors or grant-making organizations, and coordinating fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations. He has done extensive work in Sierra Leone in both private and public sector.
